DuBOIS -- The Altoona boys soccer team opened its season Friday with a win over Warren at the DuBois Boys Soccer Tournament.
Both teams were tied at 3-3 at the end of regulation and an overtime period, but Altoona won, 5-4, on penalty kicks to advance to Saturday's championship game.
Colin Etters scored two goals for Altoona to go with a solo goal from Bilal Eltayeb.

The Altoona Area High School girls soccer team opened its season with a 1-1 tie with Seneca Valley at Mansion Park in a rematch from last year's PIAA playoff game.
Sophia O'Dea scored Altoona's goal on an assist from Ava Frye, and keeper Haylee Rodriguez made 16 saves in goal.

Carroll triumphs
EBENSBURG -- The Bishop Carroll boys golf team is 5-7 after its 170-209 victory over Conemaugh Valley at the Ebensburg Country Club on Friday in high school action.
Matt Zernick led the Huskies with a 40.
Lance Masser was tops for Valley at 49.
