MILL HALL — Hollidaysburg edged Saint Joseph’s Academy by three strokes (321-324) and Central Mountain (321-329) by eight strokes in a high school golf match held at Clinton Country Club.

Tyler Steiner was the medalist in the match with a 2-under par score of 71. Sam McLanahan added an 82.

The Tigers are now 13-3 on the season.

Saint Joseph’s was led by defending PIAA Class 2A girls champion Maddie Koshko, who shot a 77, and Michael Lodek had a 75 for Central Mountain.

JOHNSTOWN — Conemaugh Valley defeated Portage, 253-264, in high school golf despite the Mustangs’ Konner Zock earning medalist honors after carding a 46.

The Mustangs are now 2-5.

Gentile helps Portage

CRESSON — Logan Gentile won the boys race in 18:45 to help Portage defeat Windber, 21-36, and Penn Cambria, 22-34, in high school boys cross country.

The Portage girls, led by Josephine White’s third-place finish in 22:52, beat Penn Cambria, 18-41, but lost to Windber, 24-33.

Vinnie Ricupero’s third-place time of 19:22 was best for Penn Cambria, which lost to Windber, 17-19, on the boys side and 19-36 on the girls side.

With the victory, the Portage boys are now 2-0. The Lady Mustangs are 1-1 while both the Penn Cambria boys and girls teams are 0-2.
