Altoona’s Jensen Treece sets meet record in winning pole vault event

CHESTER — Altoona’s Jensen Treece set a meet record in winning a pole vault competition on Saturday in the 20th annual Ron Jackson Yount Invitational at Widener University.
Treece cleared 10 feet, 6 inches to win the 13-14 Youth Boys division and also eclipse the previous record of 9-11.75 set in 2017 by Altoona’s Chadric Flarend.
Jensen Treece set the Altoona Middle School Championship record this past spring at 11-0. He will be a freshman this year at Altoona Area High School.
A total of 1,061 total youth athletes participated in the two-day meet, which hosted athletes from 13 different states and Canada.
