WILLIAMSPORT — The Altoona Teener Baseball League’s 14U team opened play in the Babe Ruth 13-14 state tournament with a 14-4 victory over Mifflin County Friday.

Kruz Keith and Grant Walters each had two hits, and Gavin Mickey, Killian Hendricks and Alex Dively each had two RBIs.

Altoona will play Williamsport West End at 2 p.m. Saturday and Roxborough at 5 p.m. Saturday.

Sweitzer’s shine

TYRONE — The team of Mike, Kaleb, Blake and Doug Sweitzer combined to shoot a round of 58 to win the Fourth of July Tournament held Friday at the Sinking Valley Country Club.

Finishing second was the team of Korry and Christian Cowher, Jordan Berry and Brian Brumbaugh at 60, followed by Mike Ieraci, Brian Foose, Tony Minnoia and Darren Galbraith.

There was a seven-way tie for fourth place at 62 by the following teams:
