BELLEFONTE -- Altoona crushed UDHL, 14-1, to earn the No. 3 seed in the single-elimination semifinal round of the Babe Ruth 16U state tournament on Sunday.
Altoona will have a rematch with Mifflin County, which it lost to earlier in the tournament, today at 2 p.m. The winner will play for the championship at 5 p.m.
Preston Long had two hits and two RBIs for Altoona, and Spencer Davis and Montae Andrews hit doubles.
– Altoona lost its opener on Saturday, 7-4, to Mifflin County.
Davis homered and hit a sacrifice fly for Altoona.
Karl Shirey had three RBIs for Mifflin County.

Altoona advances
WILLIAMSPORT -- West End out of Williamsport topped Altoona, 4-2, to win the Babe Ruth 14U state championship on Sunday.
Altoona will still advance to the Middle Atlantic Regional Tournament in Milroy July 17-20 as the runner-up.
Grant Walters had a hit and drove in a run for Altoona.
– Carter McConnell had three hits, including a double, and Ari Holzer allowed just one run during his time on the mound to earn the 7-4 victory for Altoona over Roxborough in pool play Saturday.
Grant Walters and Logan Tremmel both added two hits for Altoona.
– West End topped Altoona, 7-4, in a pool play game on Saturday.
Westley Zitsch had three hits for Altoona, and Spencer Akins had two RBIs.
