PHILADELPHIA -- Hollidaysburg graduate Isaac Yarnell ran the 200-meter dash at the New Balance Nationals in 21.16 and finished 12th in a field of more than 100 runners at the University of Pennsylvania.
State College sprinter and PIAA champion Jesse Myers was fifth in 20.98 seconds. Jake Odey-Jordan, from Washington, D.C., won the race in 20.89.
Yarnell was 72nd in the 100 dash with a time of 10.86.
Scramble held at SCC
CRESSON -- Hap Lacue, Neil Zumovitch, Steve Oyler and Ryan Patterson teamed together to shoot a 55 and win the four-player scramble at the St. Augustine Church Benefit Outing at Summit Country Club in local golf action.
Sean Owen, Josh Venesky, Daniel Owen and Nick Matteson carded a 56 for second place, and the team of Josh Beltowski, Brandon Stephens, Matt Stephens and Tony Mignogna shot 57 to place third.
Skill prizes were won by Ben Kowalski, John Link, Steve Martynuska, Brian Donlan and Neil Rapski.
Big tie at HCC
HUNTINGDON -- Four teams tied with 3-3 records during week 6 action in the Big Orange Golf League at the Huntingdon Country Club.
The teams were Bob Lamey-Geoff Clarke, Ed Gargula-Alan Herbster, Larry Newton-Gerry Huggler and Phil Thompson-Keith Black.
Newton was the low gross winner at 39 while Thompson was the low net winner at 37.
The shot of the day was Huggler, who made a difficult putt downhill on No. 7 to secure his team's win.
