Mother Nature pushes Claysburg-Kimmel playoff softball game to today

Claysburg-Kimmel had its PIAA Class 1A softball semifinal game against District 4 champion Northeast Bradford postponed before noon on Monday.
It has been rescheduled for today at a different site and time.
The Lady Bulldogs will play at Lycoming Valley Intermediate School in Williamsport at 5:30 p.m. this evening.
According to C-K athletic director Corey Reffner, the field is a new construction and turf with lights to help deal with any potential weather or delays.
The winner will play WPIAL champion Union in the PIAA championship on Friday at Penn State University’s Beard Field at 11 a.m.
Union defeated District 10 champion Cambridge Springs, 8-0, in the other semifinal on Monday at Slippery Rock University. Mia Preuhs, who will play college softball at Canisius, struck out 13 batters and allowed just two hits. Olivia Williams had three hits and scored three runs, and Irelyn Fisher doubled and drove in four runs.
Union, which defeated Claysburg-Kimmel in the PIAA semifinals in 2023, has outscored its opponents in the state playoffs, 28-0.
