MECHANICSBURG — Lance Dewease earned the pole for the All-Stars Circuit of Champions Paxton Classic on Friday night by winning the dash at the Williams Grove Speedway.

He was flanked by Ryan Smith for the start and Smith drove into the lead when action began with Dewease second and Justin Whittall in third. Smith was struggling to maintain the lead as the race wore on and with 14 laps to go, Dewease used the bottom lane to take over the point. The 11th place starter, Danny Dietrich, was blistering through the pack and on lap 18, he took the second spot away from Smith before setting his sights on leader Dewease, who at that point held a 1.5 second advantage.

Dietrich pushed the nose of his No. 48 past Dewease’s No. 12 momentarily before Dewease rode his high-line momentum back into control on the backchute. As the pair came to the white flag, Dewease claimed the win by .875 seconds. Smith rode home third followed by Chase Dietz and Freddie Rahmer. Nos. 6-10 went to Brock Zearfoss, Troy Wagaman Jr., Whittall, Chad Trout and Kody Hartlaub. Kalib Henry was the highest finishing All Star with an 11th-place run.

In twin 20-lap wingless super sportsman mains, Tony Jackson proved victorious to sweep both events.

Port Royal Speedway: Following a cancellation of the opening night of Appalachian Mountain Speedweek at the Clinton County Speedway, the Speed Palace set the stage for the opening chapter of the week long challenge for the super late model series in Pennsylvania at the Port Royal Speedway. Gregg Satterlee took the lead with 14 laps remaining to claim the first win of the contest at the Port. In Weikert’s Livestock 410 sprint car competition, Logan Wagner went from his seventh starting spot to the front in 10 laps and led the remaining 15 laps to claim his first win at Port Royal this year.

Hummingbird Speedway: After nearly a month without racing due to rainouts, Mother Nature granted a reprieve and allowed the 2025 season to continue Saturday night at the Hummingbird Speedway. It was a big night at the track with all of the feature winners receiving three trophies due to all of the rainouts that have taken place. Also, there were increased purses in all six divisions courtesy of donations from around the area. Two drivers were able to double up on their opening night wins with the B.J. Hudson getting the win in the Gio’s BBQ Semi-Late Models and Shawn Hadden getting the win in the Brooks Services Four-Cylinders race.

Four drivers visited victory lane for the first time this season, Gary Miller Jr. in the Ken Schaffer Excavating Pro Stocks, Garrett Calvert in the economods, Denny Fenton in the Srock Contracting Super Late Models, and Tim Steis in the D. Fenton Fabrications & Mechanical Pure Stocks
