Claysburg Legion beats Bellefonte twice in Cambria County Legion baseball action

CLAYSBURG — Claysburg Legion Post 522 swept a doubleheader with Bellefonte Bandits Legion Post 33 on Friday night with scores of 11-6 in five innings and 12-0 in four innings in Cambria County Legion action at Claysburg High School.

In the opener, Ben Kormanski knocked in three teammates for Claysburg, William Lower collected two hits and two RBIs, Michael Cacciotti posted two hits, while Mason Byler went the distance to earn the victory on the mound.

In the nightcap, Claysburg allowed just one hit to Bellefonte, while Kormanski delivered five RBIs on two hits.

Mason Campagna and Dontae Emerick recorded two RBIs each, while Wyatt Dilling came through with two hits, including a triple, for Claysburg Legion.

St. Michael Legion Saints put up two runs against Hollidaysburg Legion Blue in the top of the first inning and the runs held up in a 2-0 victory at Mansion Park.

Maddox Dombrosky and Kaden Christ, who doubled, drove in the runs for St. Michael, while Kolbie Smiach and Brody Custer crossed the plate for the runs.

Hollidaysburg Blue managed just five hits on the afternoon with no player recording more than one.

Blair County Oil overcame an early deficit to tie the game and then take the lead with four in the top of the sixth in a 6-2 win over Honey Baked Ham at Vets Field.

Graham Spitz earned the win on the mound with 12 strikeouts and three walks, Brayden Harbaugh produced two RBIs, while Jordan Klausman and Matt Duppstadt had two hits apiece for BCO.

Honey Baked Ham received a single and double by Jamen McCabe.

Gority Builders captured a doubleheader over CSA Foundation by scores of 8-3 and 5-2, both in five-inning contests, at Geesey Park.

In the opener, six different players (Alec Woodring, Dane Lechner, Bryson Fether, Owen Hileman, Shane Gority and Lucas Farabaugh) collected one RBI each for Gority, which put six runs on the scoreboard in the top of the fifth inning.

Wesley Zitsch doubled and knocked in two runs for CSA.

In the nightcap, Gority trailed by one but crossed the plate four times in the bottom of the third to take the lead for good.

Fether went the distance with four strikeouts, while Hileman, Lechner, Farabaugh, Gority and Thomas Brouse knocked in one run apiece for Gority.

In the opener, Carter Lechner, who tossed a complete game no-hitter with 10 strikeouts, fronted Oldschool with three hits and three RBIs, Blaze Berry totaled two hits and two RBIs, Madix Mellott delivered four hits, while Chance Butler and Zyler Hertzler added two hits apiece.

Windows has perfect day

DUNCANSVILLE — Window Perfections claimed two victories over Ashville VFW 13U at Sunbrook by scores of 5-4 and 7-2 in five-inning games.

In the first game, Bryson Miller led the way for Window with three hits and an RBI, Liam Johnston tripled and knocked in a run, while Hunter Hanlon came through with a double.

Lyle Wendekier posted two hits and an RBI for Ashville, and Nathan White also tallied an RBI.
