Ella Cherry, fr., Bellwood-Antis: Finished 16th at the PIAA championship meet in the triple jump with a distance of 35 feet, 3.75 inches. … Finished 23rd in the long jump at the PIAA meet with a distance of 15 feet, 10 inches. … Won the District 6 championship in the triple jump with a distance of 36 feet, 8.75 inches. … Runner-up at District 6 meet in the 200-meter dash and 100 dash. … Was third at District 6 meet in the long jump with a distance of 16 feet, 6 inches. … Won the 2A 200 dash at the Altoona Mountain Lion Classic in 26.92. … Won the 100 dash and the long jump at the Bellwood-Antis Invitational to help Bellwood win the team championship for the first time since 2002.
Sarah Chichester, so., Tyrone: Qualified for the PIAA championships in all four of her events (100, 200 dashes; 400, 1600 relays). … Won the District 6 championship in the 200-meter dash in 26.24. … Helped Tyrone win both the 400 and 1600 relay championships at the District 6 meet. … Third place in 100 dash at District 6 meet in 12.88. … Led Altoona Mirror Honor Roll in the 200 dash and was fourth in the 100. … Won the 200 dash at the Bellwood-Antis Invitational and was second in the 100.
