Blair United girls rugby get first ‘W’
The Blair United girls and boys rugby teams were in action this past weekend, with the girls team getting its first win of the season, 49-19, against State College.
The winners got three tries from Erika Feathers with solo scores from Chloe Karabinos, Eva DeLeo, Evvie Sipes and Janiyah Jackson. Karabinos also added two conversions.
On the boys side, Blair competed in the Indiana 3-Team Tournament with State College and the host Indiana team. Blair lost 10-5 to Indiana. Mace Baker scored a try for Blair. Against State College – which Blair United won by a score of 26-10 – Mitchell Baronner scored two tries with Baker and Aiden Schenk each scoring a try. Nick McClockey made three conversions.
The Blair teams play again on Sunday, April 27. The boys will play State College at 6 p.m. at Tigers Stadium. The girls game with State College is at 4 p.m.
Emigh wins at IMCC
ROARING SPRING — Ken Emigh shot a 140 to win the Masters event which was held at the Iron Masters Country Club.
Finishing second at 142 was Jess Reighard, followed by a three-way tie for third at 143 between Braeden Jarratt, Steve Beach and Stan Snyder.
