MORRISDALE -- Tyrone's Kyle Scott made it to the Ultimate Warrior finals at 189 pounds but fell to Bald Eagle Area's Caleb Close, 8-1, to lose by decision at West Branch High School on Saturday.
In other area matches, Hollidaysburg's Mitchell Baronner defeated Tyrone's Kyle Suhoney by major decision, 8-0, to finish seventh with Suhoney in eighth at 172 pounds.
Baronner's teammate, Connor Sidney, pinned Canton's Levi Vemiliya in 3:40 to place seventh at 107 pounds.
Hollidaysburg's Landon Krupka (121) and Braydin Sidney (114) finished eighth as did Cambria Heights' Marshall Eckenrode at 160 pounds.
Philipsburg-Osceola's Caleb Hummel lost a 1-0 decision to DuBois' Mateo Gallegos in the 114-pound finals.
Vereshack takes sixth
GROVE CITY -- Glendale's Zach Vereshack was pinned by Kiski's Travis Shearer in the fifth-place match at the Fred Bell Tournament on Saturday in 2:35 to finish sixth. Glendale finished 20th in the 40-team field.
