CURWENSVILLE -- Seven members of the Northern Bedford High School girls wrestling team competed at the Curwensville Tournament over the weekend where two of them made it to the finals in their respective weight classes, only to come up short in the end.
Kaylee Ebersole wrestled Finley Fourspring in the 112 title bout, but was pinned in 3:07. Raegan Snider wrestled in the 155-pound finals but lost 2-1 to Juliet Alt of Chestnut Ridge.
Two wrestlers competed in the consolation finals but lost. Ava Helsel 106 lost to Ashley Campbell of General McLane. Yasmin Miller lost to Athens' Emma Renninger at 118.
Emily Dennis (130) and Kyanna Hall (136) also competed with Dennis winning her fifth-place match against Central Cambria's Lillianna Fulton. Hall lost in the second round of consolations to Matilyn McCracken from Curwensville.
CC girls basketball
HUNTINGDON -- Katie George and Aubrey Ruddek led a balanced attack with eight points each to lead Central Cambria past Huntingdon, 45-35, in a high school girls basketball game from Friday.
Lily Fiscus led Huntingdon with 14 points.
