Altoona gymnasts still dominating
BELLEFONTE — The Altoona Area High School gymnastics team kept its record perfect on Thursday night, improving to 8-0 with a 135-105.75 win over Bellefonte.
The Lady Lions, who improved to 8-0, got big nights from Maddy Pastore and Katie Bettwy, who tied for first place in the all-around category (33.2).
Bettwy won the vault (8.5) and the floor (8.9). Taylor Knepper took first in the bars (9.0) while Linae Heaster finished first on the beam (8.4). Overall, Altoona placed in the top three in all events en route to the win.

Mustangs triumph
PORTAGE — Portage defeated Tyrone Christian Academy, 1,285-711, to improve to 5-6 in high school rifle Thursday.
The Mustangs were led by Jonah Irvin, who finished with a 264. The Warriors (0-8) got a 222 from Christian Harris.
