Tigers earn fifth-place finish in Hickory Tournament

HERMITAGE -- Hollidaysburg finished fifth as a team at the Hickory Invitational on Saturday in high school wrestling action.

Brayden Sidney went 3-1 for the Golden Tigers and finished as the runner-up at the 114-pound weight class. Connor Sidney (107 pounds) and Landon Krupka (121 pounds) each went 4-1 and finished third.

Jacob Brua (139) went 5-2, and Mason Schenk (252, 4-2) and Scott Payne (285, 4-2) each finished fourth.

Blake Kennedy went 4-2 at 160 and placed fifth. Logan Krupka (127, 4-3) and Mitchell Baronner (2-2, 172) were sixth, and Aiden Schenk (160, 4-2) and Lucas Darnell (215, 3-2) were seventh.

Hickory won the team title over Greater Latrobe, and Penn Cambria finished 11th. Complete results for the Panthers were not reported.

WARRENTON, Va. -- Central Cambria topped Stuart's Draft, 58-9, in the Falcon Duals and got 5-0 individual performances from Blaine O'Farrell, Jake Wilson, Jeremy Hajzus and Burke Niebauer on Saturday.

Masood wins title

CLAYSBURG -- Juniata Valley's Zack Dick was pinned by Tussey Mountain's Ezra Masood in the 172-pound championship match at the Inter-County Conference tournament on Saturday, leaving Dick with a runner-up medal.

Matt Dick placed sixth for the Green Hornets after dropping a fifth-place match to Glendale's Connor Oshall at 215 pounds.

Results for Claysburg-Kimmel, Glendale and Northern Bedford were not reported.

Tyrone topped

PHILIPSBURG -- Bradley Peters got a fall for Philipsburg-Osceola to clinch a 36-33 win over Tyrone on Saturday.

Mason VanAllman, Tyler Connelly and Kyler Suhoney won by fall for the Golden Eagles.
