JOHNSTOWN -- The Johnstown Area High School ice hockey team led 3-2 after one period Tuesday night against Hollidaysburg at 1st Summit Arena at the Cambria County War Memorial.
It didn't last for long.
The Golden Tigers erupted for nine goals over the final two periods en route to an 11-4 victory to improve to 2-1 on the season.
Isaac Miller, Jayden Mentzer and Cole Hartman combined to score nine of the goals for the Golden Tigers, who led 6-4 after two periods. Miller totaled four to go with three each from Mentzer and Hartman. Tanner Rossman added a solo goal for the winners, who finished with 29 shots on goal.
The Trojans got two goals from Gunnar Hanley.
Hollidaysburg is at State College Thursday night at Penn State at 7:50 p.m.

PVCA names stars
The Pennsylvania Volleyball Coaches Association released its All-District 6 teams for the 2024 season and four players from Hollidaysburg made the 3A team while three players from Altoona made the 4A team.
Getting recognized for the Lady Tigers in 3A were senior Emily Clapper, junior Addi Basenback and freshmen Kenzi McLanahan and Kynlee Budny. Receiving notice for the Lady Spikers were seniors Ellaina Saylor, Ava Steinbugl and junior Annalyse Yost.
