Juniata College women win in OT
HUNTINGDON -- The Penn State Altoona women's basketball team fell to 0-2 Monday night, losing in overtime, 86-82, at Juniata College.
Juniata (1-0) tied the game at the end of regulation, then won it with a 13-9 showing in the overtime.
Avana Sayles led Penn State with 17 points and 14 rebounds to go with 17 points from Jaidyn McCracken. Teammate Madison Rusnica chipped in with 15 points.
Juniata, whose bench was outscored, 27-13, got a game-high 25 points from Bri Bodtorf to go with 20 points and 11 rebounds from Haily Sherman. Steph Emert also contributed 17 points in a game her team led, 41-35, at halftime.
Penn State is on the road again Wednesday with a game at Lycoming College. Juniata is at Marywood on Saturday.
