Panthers' LB gets honored
PITTSBURGH -- Pitt sophomore linebacker Rasheem Biles was honored by the Atlantic Coast Conference Monday for his performance in the Panthers' 41-13 victory over Syracuse last week.
Biles earned the honor for the first time in his career playing a key role in Pitt's defensive effort against Syracuse.
He opened the scoring with a pick six, and then continued to fill up the stat sheet for the balance of the game. His 35-yard interception return for a touchdown gave Pitt a 7-0 lead just over two minutes into the contest.
Biles went on to compile a game-high 12 tackles while adding a 15-yard sack and two quarterback hurries. He spearheaded a defensive effort that limited Syracuse to just six rushing yards on 29 carries (0.2 avg.).
The Orange were held to a season-low 13 points.
