Altoona defeats rival Tigers

HOLLIDAYSBURG -- Altoona handed Hollidaysburg just its second defeat of the season, while picking up its third victory in a 3-0 (25-19, 25-15, 25-21) win over the Lady Tigers Tuesday night in girls high school volleyball action.

Sami Page fronted the Lady Lions with 23 assists, 12 service points, three aces and six digs, Ellaina Saylor posted eight kills, nine digs and seven points, while Megan Kelly tallied nine kills and eight digs, and Karinna Wolfe finished with 10 points.

Hollidaysburg will host Richland in the Laurel Highlands Athletic Conference semifinals on Thursday night.

MARTINSBURG -- Central dropped three straight to Bald Eagle Area, 25-20, 25-13, 25-15 in a 3-0 loss.

Dessa Boyles had five kills and five blocks for the Lady Scarlet Dragons.

BELLWOOD -- Johanna Heckman notched 10 kills, eight service points and eight digs to pace Bellwood-Antis in a 3-0 (25-21, 25-17, 25-13) defeat over Bellefonte.

Addy Turek finished with 11 kills and three blocks, Giuliana Gummo had nine points and Ava Patton came up with nine digs for the Lady Blue Devils.

Marauders downed

The Lady Marauders (3-19) got 27 assists from Rowan Disabato to go with 13 kills from Anberlyn Petrecca, which helped her reach her milestone of 200 for her career. Teammate Steph Bohn added 10 digs.

PATTON -- Gina Lane tallied 13 digs and seven service points in leading Cambria Heights to a sweep (25-20, 25-21, 25-22) of Conemaugh Valley.

Maelyn Dutko dished out 24 assists, while Mallory Sherry delivered 12 service points and Carly Sowers finished with 11.

FLINTON -- Glendale rallied from match elimination to claim the final two sets of a 3-2 (15-25, 25-21, 14-25, 25-10, 15-11) victory over Curwensville.

Ava Weld fronted the Lady Vikings with 19 digs and 11 service points, Emma Dudurich tallied 22 assists, Rachel McClellan had 15 kills and Ava Rutter added 10 points.

Huskies cruise

EBENSBURG -- Emily Olienyk amassed 31 service points, including 12 aces, as Bishop Carroll had no problems with Greater Johnstown in a 3-0 (25-4, 25-9, 25-2) victory.

Greta Krumenacker finished with 18 assists and 13 points, while Olivia Gregg had 15 kills and Sophie Becquet totaled six digs for the Lady Huskies.

Selena Sunderland paced the Lady Green Hornets with 15 service points and 10 assists, Braelyn Hall collected 23 assists and eight points and Kassidy Watson finished with 10 kills and seven points.

Ava Sipes led the way with eight service points, including three aces, for the Lady Panthers, Callie Miller recorded 17 assists, while Kaylee Ebersole finished with nine digs and Addie Love had seven kills.

JOHNSTOWN -- Penn Cambria dropped the first set to Westmont Hilltop (25-17) before claiming the next three (25-17, 27-25, 25-15) in a 3-1 win.

Nevaya Hoover led the way with 10 service points and six digs, Makenna McCoy finished with 13 points, Sophia Rabatin dished out 25 assists, while Loren Stipanovich finished with 13 kills and Addy Hite had seven blocks for the Lady Panthers.

Eagles clipped

Bailey Woomer led the Lady Golden Eagles with 17 assists and 12 service points, Rylan Crowell came through with 12 kills and seven digs, Kylee Nelson finished with 18 digs and Sidney Goodwin had 12 assists.
