Hollidaysburg wins 8-10 Little League title

CRANSTON, R.I. — Hollidaysburg brought home the Little League Baseball 10U East Region Invitational Tournament’s overall championship on Saturday with a 13-1 victory over Rhode Island.
Hollidaysburg, the Mid-Atlantic champion, defeated Rhode Island, which had won the New England championship.
Aiden Pavlik struck out five in 2• innings pitched and earned the win, and CJ Burger finished off a two-hitter.
Aiden Anderson had two hits and two RBIs, and Blake Chamberlain, Ronan Diehl and Zion Shubik also had two RBIs each.

Pitchers star for 14U
EAGLE PASS, Texas — Altoona’s 14U team opened the Babe Ruth 14U World Series by pitching 11 no-hit innings in victories over Lake Ridge and Del Rio, Texas on Saturday and Sunday.
Gavin Treon, Brody Dull and Aspen Anderson combined for a no-hitter against Del Rio on Sunday with Treon pitching five innings and striking out five in a 10-1 victory.
J.D. Brouse had three hits and three RBIs for Altoona.
Jackson Boob, Brouse and Tyler McGough combined for a no-hitter against Lake Ridge on Saturday in an 18-0 win.
Garret Reese had three doubles and drove in five runs in Altoona’s 18-0 win.

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. — Eli Laughman hit a grand slam, and Donovan Boles also homered to lead Manassas, Virginia to a 16-4 win over Altoona in Babe Ruth 16-18 World Series action on Sunday.
Gavin Bell drove in two runs for Altoona, and Jay Albarano finished with three hits. Braxton Zitsch had two hits for the locals.
On Saturday, Nick Kraft drove in four runs on two hits to power Altoona past Australia, 15-6
