Hinish captures title at Iron Masters

ROARING SPRING — Spencer Hinish finished with a 292 on Sunday to win the club championship at the Iron Masters Country Club.

He finished two strokes ahead of Wes Elder (294). Ron Hinish wound up third (296).

The first flight winner was Anthony Musselman, who finished at 152. Randy Jarratt was second (158) followed by Mase McCreary (160). Keith McGraw won the second flight (163), followed by Mike Emerick and Stan Snyder who tied for second at 168. Zach Burkett won the third flight (166) followed by Duane Geisler (180).

Sinking Valley

TYRONE — Andrew Ferguson finished with a four-round total of 278 this weekend to win the championship flight at the Sinking Valley Country Club Championship.

Ferguson’s four rounds were 73 65, 72 and 68. Quintin Dziabo was second at 292 with Artie Fink one stroke back in third at 293.

The winner of the championship B flight was Derrick Soellner at 301 with Joe Petta in second at 303. Doug Grissinger won the championship C flight with a 337, followed by John Taylor two strokes back at 339.

Summit CC

CRESSON — The team of Mike Lilly and Jim Smith shot a 63 to win the Summit Country Club/Appreciation Day Scramble event.

There was a two-way tie for second at 64 between Kyle Reese-Bill Thomas and Brian Giesler-Dale Reffner. A third-place tie at 65 was shared by Ron Shuty-Ryan Giblock and Dale Perino and Nick Macchia.

The women’s division four-player scramble was won by the team of Chrissy Sears, Diane Dunmyer, Kelly Mignogna and Nicole Mento (66).

Holes-in-one

CRESSON — Zach Wyland of Hollidaysburg sank a hole-in-one while playing at the Summit Country Club. Wyland made his shot on the par-3 No. 4 hole using a pitching wedge from 110 yards out. It was witnessed by Dave, Drew and Mike Wyland.

CRESSON — Russ Krug of Loretto sank a hole-in-one while playing at the Summit Country Club. Krug made the shot on the par-3 No. 12 hole using an 8-iron from 127 yards out. It was witnessed by Dale Reffner, Ray Eckenrode and Nick Macchia.

LORETTO — Damian Laurer sank a hole-in-one whale playing at the Immergrun Golf Club. He used an 8-iron on the par-3 No. 2 hole that was 133 yards long. It was witnessed by Joe Wilson.
