The Pittsburgh Steelers 2024 schedule was released on Wednesday night and once again the team will be featured in a number of nationally televised games.
The Steelers will have four primetime matchups this season, including three at Acrisure Stadium, and will also play on Christmas Day, hosting the Kansas City Chiefs on Wednesday, Dec. 25 at 1 p.m. The game will be streamed on Netflix.
The Steelers will play three of their first four games on the road, the first time they have done so since 2017. They also played three of the first four on the road in 2011 and 2001.
The team will open the season on the road against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, Sept. 8. The game will air on FOX, with kickoff at 1 p.m.
It will be the first time Steelers offensive coordinator Arthur Smith faces his former team. Smith was the Falcons head coach for three seasons, from 2021-23. It will also be a homecoming for several former Falcons players who are now in black and gold, including Van Jefferson, Scotty Miller, Cordarrelle Patterson and MyCole Pruitt.
The Steelers will remain on the road in Week 2 when they travel to Denver to take on the Broncos on Sunday, Sept. 15 at 4:25 p.m. on CBS.
Quarterback Russell Wilson, who was signed by the Steelers this offseason, spent the last two seasons with the Broncos, appearing in 30 games while throwing 42 touchdown passes.
The home opener will happen in Week 3 when the Steelers host the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, Sept. 22 at 1 p.m. The game will air on CBS. The Steelers have a 24-11 series lead over the Chargers, including 15-4 at home.
For the second consecutive year the Steelers will face the Indianapolis Colts on the road, taking them on in Week 4 on Sunday, Sept. 29 at 1 p.m. on CBS.
The first primetime game of the year will take place in Week 5 with a classic matchup between the Steelers and the Dallas Cowboys on NBC's Sunday Night Football on Oct. 6 at 8:20 p.m. The last time the two teams met, the Steelers came away with a 24-19 win in Dallas.
It will be back on the road in Week 6 when the Steelers travel to Las Vegas to take on the Raiders on Sunday, Oct. 13 at 4:05 p.m., with the game airing on CBS. This will be the third year in a row the two teams will play each other. The Steelers beat the Raiders, 23-18, in a primetime matchup in 2023 at Allegiant Stadium and in 2022 they defeated the Raiders, 13-10, on Christmas Eve at Acrisure Stadium.
The team will be under the lights the next two weeks, as the Steelers take on a pair of teams from New York.
In Week 7 the Steelers will host the New York Jets on NBC's Sunday Night Football on Oct. 20. Despite their first meeting taking place in 1970, the Steelers and Jets have only played 27 times, with the Steelers holding a 20-7 series advantage. The following week the Steelers will host the New York Giants on Monday Night Football, with the Oct. 28 game kicking off at 8:15 p.m. on ESPN.
Following the two night games, the Steelers will get the bye week on Week 9.
Following the bye, the Steelers will be on the road against the Washington Commanders in Week 10, with a 1 p.m. game on CBS.
A stretch of four AFC North games will highlight the schedule next, during a pivotal time for the Steelers. In Week 11, the Steelers will play their first divisional game when they host the Baltimore Ravens on Nov. 17 at 1 p.m. on CBS.
The following week the Steelers will play the Browns on Thursday Night Football on Nov. 21. The game will air on Prime with kickoff at 8:15 p.m.
In Week 13 the Steelers will be back in Ohio, taking on the Cincinnati Bengals on Dec. 1 at 1 p.m. on CBS. Last year the Steelers defeated the Bengals in both meetings.
The four-game stretch will wrap when the Steelers host the Cleveland Browns at Acrisure Stadium on Sunday, Dec. 8 at 1 p.m. on CBS. It will be the battle of Pennsylvania in Week 15 when the Steelers head East to take on the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, Dec. 15 at 4:25 p.m. on FOX.
Another AFC North battle will ensue in Week 16 when the Steelers take on the Ravens in Baltimore on Saturday, Dec. 21 at 4:30 p.m. on FOX. It will be a quick turnaround for the black and gold, who will then host the Chiefs on Christmas Day on Wednesday, Dec. 25 at Acrisure Stadium at 1 p.m. The game will be streamed by Netflix.
The Steelers will close out the regular season when they host the Bengals in Week 18. The date, time and network for the game have yet to be announced.
