Gibbons’ hit lifts Tigers over Altoona

HOLLIDAYSBURG -- Cayden Gibbons delivered a one out single to left to score pinch runner Gavin Bell in the bottom of the eighth inning to give Hollidaysburg a 2-1 walkoff win over Altoona.
Gibbons finished the day with two hits, while pitchers Carson Kensinger, who struck out 11, and Paul Wedel held the Mountain Lions scoreless for the final seven innings.
The Golden Tigers' (12-5) Bradey Michaels came through with a two-out RBI single in the bottom of the seventh to score Drew Banks to push the game into the extra inning.
Altoona (11-9) got two of its four hits from Aaron Smearman, who also contributed the lone run in the first inning.

Pirates win late
CLAYSBURG -- Williamsburg and Claysburg-Kimmel both scored one run in the first inning, and the game remained that way until the Blue Pirates scored twice in the top of the eighth inning before holding the Bulldogs scoreless to come away with a 3-1 victory.
Luke Uplinger and Rowan Gorsuch paced the Pirates with two hits each, while Andrew Clark and Ethan Reffner delivered one RBI each.
Mason Campagna had two hits for C-K, while Landon Douglas drove home Quinton Bush to account for the only run.
