Black, Cavender lead Lady Bulldogs to easy victory

WILLOW HILL -- McKenna Black hit a pair of solo home runs, and winning pitcher Emalee Cavender had two hits and an RBI, to lead Claysburg-Kimmel to a 9-2 win over Fannett-Metal in high school softball on Wednesday.

The Lady Bulldogs, who led 4-2 after three innings, improved to 14-1.

Red Devils win big

EBENSBURG -- Olivia Janosik swatted two home runs and drove in five runs, and Katie Scott added a home run and four RBIs to lead Central Cambria to a 12-2 win over Bedford.

Winning pitcher Keira Link had two hits, including a double, for the now 12-4 Lady Red Devils.

JV outlasts Glendale

ALEXANDRIA -- Juniata Valley scored 17 runs combined in the fourth and fifth innings and beat Glendale, 29-20, in a game from Tuesday that featured 27 hits, 12 errors and 20 bases on balls.

Ava Allison went 3-for-5 with five RBIs for JV, Abigail Sneath went 3-for-3, and Haylie Thompson, Kassidy Watson and Bethany Devore each drove in four runs.

Ava Weld homered and drove in four runs for Glendale, Jayden Fry had three hits, and Madison Peterson had three hits.
