MARTINSBURG -- The defending state champion Everett Area High School softball team scored 10 runs in the sixth inning to overtake Central, 14-5, on Friday.
Madison Kennedy delivered three hits for Central, and Bralyn Ellis and Ashlyn Renner each had two hits and two RBIs.
Everett improved to 13-2.

Glendale cruises
FLINTON -- Hannah Simmers fired a two-hitter, and Caitlyn Rydbom went 4-for-4 with two RBIs to help Glendale breeze past Blacklick Valley, 15-0, in four innings.
Alyson Buterbaugh and Macy Snyder each drove a pair of runs for the Lady Vikings.

LOYSBURG -- Leading 4-3, Southern Fulton scored six times in the sixth inning en route to an 11-4 win at Northern Bedford.
Ava Helsel had three hits, including a double, and an RBI. Teammates Lacie Zelanko and Lacy McIllnay each added RBI doubles for the Lady Panthers (1-14).
On Thursday, Helsel had three hits, and teammate Leah Swanseen had two hits and three RBIs, but it wasn't enough as Northern Bedford lost 15-8 to Forbes Road.
Gretchen Fleming had three hits, including a homer, and five RBIs for Forbes Road.

HUNTINGDON -- Despite two hits and three RBIs from Sydney Shay and two hits and two RBIs from Lexi Peacock, Hollidaysburg lost 6-5 in extra innings at Huntingdon from Thursday.
Shay and Peacock both homered.
Maria Malone struck out 14 and walked two in getting the loss. Alivia Nicklow struck out 11 and walked two in getting the win.
Charlotte Kyle had two RBIs for the Lady Bearcats (8-5).
