FLINTON -- Big days from Madison Peterson and Jaylee Beck propelled Glendale to a 14-0 five-inning victory over Johnstown in high school softball action on Wednesday.
Peterson went 3-for-4 with a home run and four RBIs, and Beck went 2-for-3 with a double, homer and four RBIs. Peterson also threw one inning of a combined no-hitter with Hannah Simmers, who threw four no-hit innings with nine strikeouts.
Simmers, Caitlyn Rydbom and Alexis McNitt each had two hits for the Lady Vikings.

CC captures slugfest
JOHNSTOWN -- Central Cambria improved to 7-1 with a 22-11 win at Westmont Hilltop Wednesday.
The Lady Red Devils, who finished with 20 hits, got four from Katie Scott, three from Camryn Matlin and two each from Keira Link, Aubrey Ruddek, Katie George, Liv Janosik and Sophie Blasko. Matlin, Link, Janosik and Scott each had a home run. Link got he win.
Kelce Muto, Zoey Lynch and Lamaya Stephens each had two hits for Westmont.
Bellefonte cruises
BELLWOOD -- Bellwood-Antis fell to 1-5 with a 21-2 loss to Bellefonte in a four-inning game on Tuesday.
Kat Garman and Palynn Gregg each drove in a run for the Lady Blue Devils, who trailed 9-0 after two innings.
Bellefonte (4-2) got a home run, a double and eight RBIs from Taylor Brown. Teammate Sienna Barnhart added two solo home runs.
Shamokin rolls
PORTAGE -- Payton Noll drove in the only run for Portage in an 11-1 loss in six innings to West Shamokin in a game from Tuesday.
The loss dropped the Lady Mustangs, who trailed 4-1 after three innings, to 3-3.
West Shamokin (8-1) got three RBIs from Malena Stewart to go with two hits and two RBIs from Madi Keirn. Winning pitcher Leah Mondi struck out 10, walked one and gave up two hits and one run in six innings.
