LOCK HAVEN -- Altoona's Bron Mosley won the boys shot put, and the Altoona girls earned seven runner-up finishes at the 27th annual 22-team Lock Haven University High School Track and Field Classic at Hubert Jack Stadium on Friday.
Mosley won the shot put with a throw of 55 feet, 11 inches, and teammate Calvin Troutman was sixth with a 44-11.75.
Other top finishers for the Altoona boys were Josh Corso (third in the high jump, 5-10), Rocco Pacifico (fourth in the 110-meter hurdles, 16.70 seconds), Justin Bossler (seventh in the 800 run, 2:05.98) and the Altoona boys 3200 relay team that finished fourth (8:26.27).
Kihlee Noel led the Altoona girls with a second-place finish in the shot put (37-7.75) and a third-place finish in the discus (112-7). Alannah Irwin was second in the 300 hurdles (46.59) and seventh in the 100 hurdles (17.16), and Hannah Owulede was second in the triple jump (36-1.25) and fifth in the 300 hurdles (50.49).
Ashlyn Noce finished runner-up in the 3200 run (11:12.03), Kenzie Wilt finished second in the high jump (5-2), Annalyse Yost was second in the javelin (122-0), and Emerson Snare finished second in the 2000 steeplechase (8:28.09)
Other top finishers for the Altoona girls were Brookelynn Weaver (fourth in the 100 dash, 13.30), Colbie Billetdeaux (fifth in the pole vault, 9-0), the 3200 relay team (fourth in 10:12.28) and the 1600 relay team (fifth in 4:23.26).
Lutz takes 12th
PHILADELPHIA -- Altoona Area High School senior Nathan Lutz placed 12th out of 20 competitors in the Penn Relays pole vault championship on Friday.
Lutz cleared 14 feet, 2 inches. Victor Olsen of Virginia won the event by clearing 17-0.25.
