The Laurel Highlands Athletic Conference recently released its all-conference selections for this past winter sports season for boys and girls basketball, swimming and wrestling featuring players from Blair and surrounding counties.
In girls basketball, Hollidaysburg's Bella Vent was named MVP in the Eastern Conference. First-teamers included Bellwood-Antis' Lilly Gerwert, Bishop Guilfoyle's Maurie Querry and Morgan Ruggery, along with Hollidaysburg's Clare Padamonsky. The West MVP was Bishop McCort's Gianna Gallucci. There were no first-teamers from the Mirror coverage area.
For boys basketball, Bishop Guilfoyle's Jude Haigh was named MVP for the Eastern Conference. Making the first team in the East were Central's Eli Muthler and Hunter Smith, BG's Trevor Rehm, Tyrone's Sam Crilly and Hollidaysburg's Cole Walters.
For the West, Bishop Carroll's Luke Repko was named to the first team. The MVP was won by Johnstown's Donte Tisinger.
In wrestling, Tyrone's Braden Ewing made it as a 285-pounder and Huntingdon's Andrew McMonagle, a Williamsburg student, was picked at 189 pounds.
For swimming, Hollidaysburg's Kara Neeley (100 back) made the first team as did the Tiger boys 400 free relay team of Christopher Shilaos, Max Baronner, Kaden Henderson and Andrew Shanafelt. Henderson also made it in the 50 free.
