Lady Bulldogs mercy-rule Tussey

SAXTON -- Claysburg-Kimmel broke open a one-run game with six runs in the fourth inning en route to an 11-1 five-inning victory over Tussey Mountain Tuesday in high school softball.

The Lady Bulldogs, which pounded out 12 hits, got two apiece from Emalee Cavender, Jenna Helsel, Bella Francona, Zakera Bush and Jaylee Swindell.

Swindell drove in three runs, while Alexa Francona collected two RBIs for C-K.

Panthers triumph

EBENSBURG -- Penn Cambria used a six-run second inning as a springboard to a 13-4 win over Bishop Carroll.

Sophia Rabatin fronted the Lady Panthers with two hits and two RBIs, while Alyse Rabatin smacked three hits and Avery Cavalet came through with two.

Ema Sheesley produced two hits for the Lady Huskies.

Ridge holds on

EBENSBURG -- With the game knotted at 1-1, Chestnut Ridge's Natalie Short smacked a game-winning hit in the top of the seventh to hand Central Cambria a 3-1 loss.

CC's Rowyn Ruddek struck out 12, gave up three hits and no earned runs, while Sophia Blasko and Lakelynn Campbell registered two hits each.

Lady Lions' starting pitcher Britni Motter fanned 11 Lady Red Devils to earn the win.
