HOLLIDAYSBURG -- The Hollidaysburg softball team jumped out to a 7-0 lead after two innings Friday en route to a 13-3 win over Cambria Heights in six innings in high school play.
Sidney Shay had three hits and six RBIs to go with three hits and three runs scored from Mikaylah Vincent. Shay had a homer and a double. Hallee Chandler added two hits and three RBIs to go with two hits each from Lexi Peacock, Sophia Morris and winning pitcher Maria Malone.
In the circle, Malone gave up two hits, struck out 10 and walked one.
Heights got two RBIs from Gina Lane, who homered.

Road win for Tyrone
WINGATE -- Layna Dibert hit her first home run, and Kaitlyn Rockwell earned her first varsity win as Tyrone won at Bald Eagle Area, 8-7, in the season opener for both teams.
Dibert finished with three RBIs to go with two from Amariah Sprankle. KK Brodzina had three hits for Tyrone to go with two eachfrom Sprankle and Dibert.
Rockwell finished with five strikeouts and two walks.

MARTINSBURG -- Central opened its season with a 13-7 win at Clearfield in which the Lady Dragons scored five in the second and five more in the sixth inning.
Alexis Fetzer and Kaylee Kensinger each had two hits and three RBIs to go with three hits and two RBIs from Aubrey Rhodes. Winning pitcher Madison Kennedy added two hits, and in the circle, she struck out five and walked three to get the win.
Riley Peterson added two RBIs to go with teammate Marah Dickson's two hits. Rhodes and Peterson both homered.
