Red Devils put together strong offensive showing

EBENSBURG -- The Central Cambria High School softball team made quick work of Bishop Carroll on Tuesday, winning 16-1 in three innings.

Keira Link and Katie George led a 14-hit attack with three hits and a home run each. Aubrey Ruddek and Olivia Janosik each delivered two hits, including a double, and Camryn Matlin and Sophia Blasko each added a double.

Link gave up just one hit - to BC's Adelyn Myers - to earn the win.

Tigers defeated

HOLLIDAYSBURG -- Mikaylah Vincent got the only RBI hit for Hollidaysburg in a 5-1 loss to Bald Eagle Area.

Alyssa King smacked a three-run homer for Bald Eagle (1-1) while winning pitcher Sierra Albright finished with a two-hitter and 10 strikeouts. Losing pitcher Maria Malone finished with 10 strikeouts and no walks but did give up seven hits.

Mounties cruise

BELLWOOD -- Palynn Gregg hit a grand slam for Bellwood-Antis in its 17-4 loss in six innings to Philipsburg-Osceola.

Winning pitcher Alivia Bizzari struck out 14 and walked two for the Lady Mounties (2-1).

The Lady Blue Devils, down 4-0 after two innings, fell to 0-3.

WILLIAMSBURG -- Billy Harnish managed the only hit for Williamsburg in a 14-0 loss to West Branch in a five-inning game.

The Lady Warriors -- who had 7 hits, all singles -- scored eight runs in the second inning and added six more in the fourth. They were the recipients of seven errors and 7 base on balls.
