Penn Cambria knocks off Bedford

CRESSON -- The Penn Cambria High School wrestling team picked up a 48-23 win over Bedford on Saturday with the help of four forfeits and three falls.

Layton Munyon, Drew Mardula and Jesse Horning recorded falls for the Panthers, and Zachary Farabaugh and Nick Summerville won by decision.

Juniata wins tourney

ALEXANDRIA -- Juniata won the 10-team Juniata Valley High School Invitational on Saturday.

Moshannon Valley placed second, Ridgway was third, Juniata Valley was fourth, and Cambria Heights finished fifth. Heights' Hunter Jones won the 114-pound title.

Altoona juniors win again

MIFFLINTOWN -- The Altoona Area junior high wrestling team claimed another team title at the Juniata Invitational on Saturday.

Altoona outscored 14 other teams with a total team score of 270. Individual titles were won by Mikey Nardozza, Dom Picciotti, Deklan Barr, Brayden Wible, Dom Verticelli and Mike Colyer. Second-place finishers were Brandt Hite, Reese Hite, Caleb Darpino and Ryan Pallidini. Coming in third was Liam Chirdon, and Gavyn Weamer was fourth.

Barr finished his season at 28-0 and improved his PIAA junior high career record to 58-0.

Altoona finished the season winning titles at five tournaments. The team was ranked No. 2 in the state, according to Pennsylvania Wrestling News Magazine.

Three Lions win titles

EDINBORO -- Eight members of the Penn State wrestling team competed at the Edinboro Open on Saturday, and three Nittany Lions won titles at the event.

Senior Terrell Barraclough went 4-0 to win the crown at 165 pounds, true freshman Josh Barr won the weight class crown at 184, and sophomore Lucas Cochran went 4-0 to take first at 197.
