SAINT MARYS -- The Altoona gymnastics team kept its perfect record intact on Monday night, winning at Saint Marys, 141.05-129.525 in high school action.
Claire Piper won the vault (9.425), the bars (9.175), beam (9.55) and the all-around (37.6) as Altoona improved to 8-0.
Teammate Maddy Pastore was first in the floor at 9.5. Abby Donlan got second in the bars and the beam.
The Lady Lions will go for nine wins this Saturday at Ridgway.

Heights, Tyrone split
TYRONE -- Tyrone and Cambria Heights split a high school swimming meet with the Golden Eagles claiming a 100-52 victory, while the Lady Highlanders getting a 116-39 win.
Dylan Eckenrode (200 and 500 frestyles) and Spencer Dunklebarger (100 freestyle and 100 breaststroke) were double winners for Tyrone on the boys side.
Loren Stipanovich (50 freestyle and 100 backstroke) for Heights was the lone double winner in the girls events.
Tyrone will compete in the Laurel Highlands Athletic Conference championships, schedule for Hollidaysburg, this Thursday. Heights does not swim again until the District 6 championships which are slated for Penn State University on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 23-24.

BC triumphs
CAIRNBROOK -- The Bishop Carroll rifle team improved its record to 5-8 with a 1,253-1,110 win over Shanksville-Stoneycreek at the Shade Sportsmen's Club.
The Huskies got a 259 from Seth Cunningham with Karli Schoop taking second at 256.
The Huskies are now off until Thursday, Feb. 8, when they will compete in the AMRC Championships.
