PITTSBURGH -- Altoona freshman Ashlyn Noce earned a medal as a top-20 finisher at the Tri-State Coaches Association Cross Country Championships at Oak Park on Thursday.
Noce finished 17th in 19:23.82 to lead all Lady Lions in the 264-runner field. As a team, the Altoona girls finished 11th out of 24 teams, and Mount Lebanon senior Logan St. John Kletter won in 17:39.31. The winning team was North Allegheny.
On the boys side, Camdyn Woomer finished 24th in 16:56.51 out of 281 runners. Butler's Drew Griffith won in 15:09, and North Allegheny also won the boys team title. Altoona was seventh out of 25 teams.

Portage boys third
MARION CENTER -- The Portage boys finished third overall, and the girls were fourth at the Heritage Conference cross country championships.
Alex Chobany finished fourth overall individually in the girls race in 21:18.6, and Logan Gentile was fifth in the boys race with a time of 18:30.4.
United won both the boys and girls team titles.
Cambria Heights finished fourth in the boys race and third in the girls. Savannah Hoover was fifth for the Lady Highlanders in 21:23.1, and Zoe Adams was 10th in 22:19.1.
United's Colton Henning won the boys race in 17:21.1, and Marion Center's Lydia Miller won the girls race in 20:32.6.
