BELLEVILLE -- The Great Commission School boys soccer team defeated Blair County Christian in the fifth-place game Friday, 4-3 in a double overtime penalty shootout, at the ACAA Soccer Tournament held at Belleville Mennonite.
It was the first time in six years that the Bears have beaten the Bobcats.
The Bears won the shootout, 3-2, after it was tied at 3-3 at the end of regulation.
Eli Michael scored twice for GCS while Landyn Summers added one goal. No results were reported on BCC's goals that were scored.
Lady Bears win
BELLEVILLE -- The Great Commission School girls also captured the fifth-place game at the ACAA tourney, beating Johnstown Christian, 3-2.
The Lady Bobcats (11-6-3) got solo goals from Mia Palazzi, Alanna Rice and Kiera Wertman. Palazzi also added an assist in a game they led, 2-1, at halftime.
Wertman's goal, on a penalty kick, turned out to be the game-winning score.
