SPRING MILLS -- Central Cambria won both the boys and girls Laurel Highlands Athletic Conference dual meet cross country championships on Saturday.
The Red Devils topped fellow section champions Bedford, 17-43, and Bellefonte, 23-32. The Lady Devils beat Bedford, 20-43 and Bellefonte, 15-48.
Evan George finished as the individual runner-up for Central Cambria in 17:39.2 behind only Bellefonte's Alexander Crist, who finished in 17:11.8. On the girls side, Bedford's Chloe May was first in 18:59.1, and Central Cambria's Abigail Sheehan finished third in 20:34.7.

Lions fall
STATE COLLEGE -- Altoona's Troy Peterman tied the game late in the first half, but State College scored four unanswered goals in the second half to pull away in a 5-1 win over the Mountain Lions in high school boys soccer on Saturday.
Wil Kogelmann had a hat trick for State College.

Altoona wins bracket
SIDMAN -- Altoona won the Silver Bracket at the JV Ranger Classic in junior varsity girls volleyball on Saturday.
Altoona topped Forest Hills, 25-21, Portage, 25-13, and Richland, 25-16, in the playoffs.
The Lady Spikers split with Penns Manor (19-25, 25-19), Northern Cambria (19-25, 25-20) and Chestnut Ridge (25-23, 22-25) and lost to Tyrone, 28-26, 25-22, in pool play.
Sage Bower had 12 kills, including seven aces, Maraya Bittner had 30 assists and Karinna Wolfe finished with 47 digs and eight aces for Altoona.
