EBENSBURG -- Central placed first in the team competition and advanced four individuals from the District 6 Class 2A Boys Golf Sectionals on Wednesday at Ebensburg Country Club.
The top four teams and the top 30 individual golfers will compete in the District 6 2A Championships on Tuesday at Scotch Valley Country Club.
Griffin Snowberger led the Scarlet Dragons to the team title by shooting a 74, good for third place overall. Nick Baum and Zach Oakes each shot a 78, and Bryte Barnes recorded an 86 as Central finished with a team score of 316.
West Shamokin finished second with a 331, followed by Saint Joseph's (335) and Central Cambria (336). The Red Devils will also have four players competing individually on Tuesday -- Angelo Persio (80), Jake Kirsch (81), Karter Cuppett (82) and Austin Semelsberger (84).
West Shamokin's Alex Talmadge was the medalist with a 71, and Bishop Carroll's Luke Repko finished second with a 74.

Tigers triumph
HOLLIDAYHSBURG -- Crosby Denis medaled with a 39 to lead the Hollidaysburg girls past Altoona, 144-159, at the Scotch Valley Country Club.
The Lady Tigers improved to 9-0.
Altoona, which fell to 6-3, got a 50 from Gabrielle Filer.
