BELLWOOD -- Bellwood-Antis won the 16-team Bellwood-Antis High School Girls Volleyball Invitational on Saturday.
Bellwood edged Clarion-Limestone in the championship match, 26-24.
Bellwood went 5-1 in pool play, then won the Gold Bracket, which had Bishop Carroll and United along with Clarion Limestone. Ava Patton was Bellwood's MVP for the tourney.
Bishop Guilfoyle fell to Mifflin County, 25-6, in the Silver Bracket semifinals after beating Mount Union, 25-18. In pool play, BG split with Williamsburg, 25-27, 25-15, and Mount Union, 14-25, 25-20, defeated Juniata Valley, 25-23, 25-20, and lost to Bishop Carroll, 25-13, 25-17.
Rowan Disabato led BG with 23 assists, Sam Brandt contributed 12 assists, Riley Gofus had 19 kills, Annalise Casillo delivered 16 kills, and Steph Bohn added 10 digs.

Altoona third
MECHANICSBURG -- The Altoona Lady Spikes placed third in the Silver Bracket of the Cumberland Valley Girls Volleyball Tournament on Saturday.
In pool play, Southwestern topped Altoona, 27-25, 26-27, 25-23, and Elizabethtown beat Altoona, 25-21, 25-22, 25-15. In the Silver playoffs, Altoona beat Central Mountain, 25-21, but fell to Cumberland Valley in the semifinals, 25-16.
Ellaina Saylor led Altoona with 22 kills and 11 digs, Sydney Stroup had 21 kills and nine digs, Aunye Counsman contributed 46 digs, Ella Albright had 21 service points, eight kills and 11 digs, Sami Page delivered 44 assists and 19 digs, Megan Kelly had five blocks, Annalyse Yost had eight kills, and Jorja Treece added 17 assists and 11 digs.

WILLIAMSPORT -- The Altoona boys soccer team improved its record to 8-2 with a 1-0 double-overtime victory over Williamsport at Balks Mills Soccer Complex on Saturday.
Cohen Crawford broke the scoreless tie at 94:14, and Luke Mitchell recorded the shutout.

Altoona girls win
WILLIAMSPORT -- Lia Sankey's unassisted goal at 23:02 of the second half lifted the Altoona girls soccer team to a 3-2 win over Williamsport on Saturday at Bear Creek Soccer Complex.
Ava Frye and Alli Little also scored goals for the Lady Lions, who improved to 4-5. Nylah Ford scored twice for Williamsport.

Freshman Olivia Newlin scored a goal for the Lady Eagles, now 2-7.

CC boys take 4th
HERSHEY -- The Central Cambria boys team placed fourth out of 35 teams in the White Division (Class 1A) of the PIAA Foundation Cross Country Invitational on Saturday.
Annville-Cleona placed first in the division, and the Portage boys were 21st.
Central Cambria's Evan George finished 24th with a time of 17 minutes, 55 seconds, and Dom Kuntz was 29th in 18:13. Portage's top finisher was Logan Gentile in 19:25, 75th individually.
Alex Chobany ran a 22:07 to finish 23rd in the girls White Division, helping the Lady Mustangs finished 15th out of 21 teams.
