Altoona honored its five seniors -- Garrett Baumgartner, Dustin Baughman, Landen Fisher, Zach Ronan and Brock Winters -- and then went out and beat Central Dauphin East, 20-25, 25-14, 25-21, 25-9, in high school boys volleyball action at the AAHS Fieldhouse on Monday.
Baumgartner led Altoona with 12 kills, Fisher had four kills and two blocks, Sam Kessinger delivered 27 assists, and Noah Fries contributed nine kills and seven digs.

Somerset player shines
BEDFORD -- Somerset's Liam Egal won the District 5 Class 2A singles tennis championship on Monday by beating Bedford's Tristen Ruffley in the final, 6-1, 6-4.
Ruffley advanced to the finals with a 10-7 semifinal win over Tussey Mountain's Luke Barnett.
