Coach Matthew Manfred's quote: "Edie knew when she chose to go to Grier for high school that if she ran competitively, it would look very different and she would be unable to run in the district or PIAA meets. Although she trains alone in the mornings before school, her focus and determination is unbelievable. She has hung with and often beaten the best runners in the area, including multiple state medalists, even though some of her races are greatly impacted by her dysautonomia, a disorder of the autonomic nervous system."
How I got my start running: "My parents are both distance runners and coaches, so I've been running with them for as long as I can remember. My mom ran through her entire pregnancy with me, including the day I was born. I started competing in middle school cross country in sixth grade when we lived in Massachusetts and have been racing wherever I've been ever since."
Favorite college growing up: Penn State Altoona

What getting to run in college means to me: "Being able to pursue both art and collegiate running is a dream come true and is the fruition of my family's support and my years of hard work."

When I started coaching Tyrone golf four years ago, Cassidy was a freshman, so she is as much a part of this team as I am. I was spoiled for four years and she will be sorely missed by the team. Watching her develop into a great junior golfer and a fierce competitor has been a real pleasure. But watching her determination in the classroom has been even finer. She is one of the best students that I have ever had walk through my classroom door. How I got started playing golf: "When I was 4, my parents took me to a yard sale and I saw a set of golf clubs. I was really excited they bought the clubs for me, and I started slowly playing from there."
