CC improves to 19-0

MARTINSBURG -- Central Cambria scored four runs in the first inning and went on to beat Central, 6-2, in a Laurel Highlands Athletic Conference matchup in high school softball action on Monday.

Central Cambria improved to 19-0 heading into the District 6 playoffs.

Kami Kamzik had two hits, including a home run, for Central Cambria and also struck out 12 batters in earning the win. Kathryn Scott drove in two runs.

Lacey Lynn had two hits for Central.

Claysburg-Kimmel goes 3-0

CLAYSBURG -- Claysburg-Kimmel went 3-0 with a 3-2 victory over Tussey Mountain, an 11-0 triumph over Forbes Road and a 13-3 win over Southern Fulton in a tripleheader made possible by makeup games.

In the first contest, winning pitcher Emalee Cavender homered for her 100th career hit. Tussey Mountain's Alayna Clark was the tough-luck losing pitcher and also had three hits.

Against Forbes Road, Jenna Helsel had two hits and two RBIs for the Lady Bulldogs, and Jaylee Swindell and Eleah Diehl each homered.

Cavender homered again and was again the winning pitcher versus Southern Fulton, and Zakera Bush tripled and drove in four runs for C-K, which improved to 16-3 overall.

Vikings dominate

HOUTZDALE -- Alyssa Sinclair had three hits, including a home run and a double, and five RBIs to lead Glendale to a 16-0 win over Moshannon Valley.

Winning pitcher Riley Best did not allow a hit and extended her career home run record at Glendale with another blast.

Jillian Taylor also had three hits and three runs batted in for the Lady Vikings.
