PORTAGE -- The Central Cambria High School softball team won the Mustang Classic on Saturday, beating Portage, 12-0, in the final, and Clearfield, 4-0, in the semifinals.
In the final, Kami Kamzik, Aubrey Ruddek and Keira Link combined on a five-inning no-hitter with nine strikeouts. Kamzik also homered twice and teammate Olivia Janosik had two hits, including a home run.
In the opener, Kamzik struck out 16 en route to a victory. She walked one while giving up just two hits. Liv Janosik had three hits, including a double, for the 12-0 Lady Red Devils.

Third in PR heats
HILADELPHIA -- Both the Hollidaysburg Area and Altoona Area girls 1600-meter relay teams earned third-place finishes in their heats on Saturday at the 127th Penn Relays Carnival.
The Hollidaysburg girls ran 4 minutes, 7.76 seconds. Team members included Isabella Vent, Emily Clapper, Lauren Stevenson and Aubree Waksmonski.
The Altoona girls ran a 4:08.81. Team members were Adelynn Himmelwright, Hailey Kravetz, Reese Wilber and Mary Stoltz.
Eagles triumph
SOMERSET --Ryan Seeger's RBI single in the top of the sixth put Tyrone ahead 3-2 en route to a 5-2 victory at Somerset in high school baseball play on Saturday.
Winning pitcher Dylan Ewing went the distance for the win in his first varsity game. He gave up six hits, struck out four and walked just two.
Ross Gampe and Landon Hamer each had two hits and an RBI for Tyrone (8-7).

Mountain Lions fall short
STATE COLLEGE -- The Altoona Area High School boys volleyball team went 5-7 on Saturday at the State College Boys Varsity Invitational.
In morning pool play, Altoona lost to Hempfield (25-21, 25-18) and split with Central York (25-22, 26-24) and Shaler (14-25, 25-17). In the Silver pool, Altoona lost to Governor Mifflin (25-21, 26-24), split with York Suburban (22-25, 25-19) and defeated Central Dauphin (25-13, 25-19).
Altoona did not qualify for the playoffs.
Caleb Fries led the Mountain Lions with 34 kills and 21 digs to go with 19 kills and 17 digs from Noah Fries. Garrett Baumgartner added 32 digs and 20 kills alongside Landen Fisher's 25 kills and six blocks. Sam Kessinger finished the day with 90 assists and 20 digs while Nino Yohn added 15 digs and Ian Long 13 digs.
