Bulldogs hold on to down Warriors

CLAYSBURG -- Claysburg-Kimmel jumped out to an 8-1 lead after three innings and held on to beat Everett, 8-7, in high school baseball action on Monday.

Aidan Simpson, who pitched 1ª innings of scoreless relief work, delivered two hits and three RBIs for the Bulldogs, and Landon Douglas drove in two runs. Bradon Furry gave up just two earned runs in 5• innings to win.

BELLWOOD -- After spotting Tussey Mountain three runs in the first, Bellwood-Antis bounced back with two in the fourth and two in the fifth and prevailed, 4-3.

Chris Walls threw five innings and gave up just four hits, and Vincent Cacciotti gave up one hit and no runs over the final two innings.

Hunter Kyle, Cam Swogger and Zach Pier each had two hits for Bellwood, and senior Nick Kost drove in two runs on senior day.

PHILIPSBURG -- Central scored nine runs in the top of the seventh inning to break an 8-8 tie game and hand Philipsburg-Osceola a 17-11 setback.

Lukas Black had two hits, inclunding a double, and three RBIs for Central, Jeff Hoenstine had a triple, scored three runs and had two RBIs, Kyle Klotz scored three runs on four walks, and Kaden Fisher drove in three runs and Baron Dionis two.

Dionis was the winning pitcher in relief of Kaleb Mountain.

HARRISBURG -- Logan Snyder's sacrifice fly with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning capped a three-run rally as Central Dauphin came back from a 5-1 sixth-inning deficit to defeat Altoona, 6-5.

Evan Alwine hit a two-run homer for Altoona, while Connor Lindsey delivered a two-run single. Trent Meyers added two hits, and Gavin Albright threw five innings of four-hit ball for Altoona while allowing one unearned run and striking out six batters.
