Lions' Lutz places third
PHILADELPHIA -- Altoona junior Nathan Lutz placed third in the high school boys pole vault championship at the Penn Relays on Thursday afternoon.
Lutz cleared 15 feet, 2.25 inches and was the top placer in the state of Pennsylvania.
Kentucky's Wyatt Stewart won the title, clearing 16 feet, 8 inches, and New Jersey's Brian O'Sullivan was the runner-up after clearing 15 feet, 8.25 inches.
Lutz cleared on his final attempt after missing twice. Both Stewart and O'Sullivan failed their first two attempts at 15 feet, 8.25 inches before clearing on their final chance.
