SHIPPENSBURG -- Hollidaysburg Area High School's Caden DeLattre placed first in both the triple jump and long jump on Saturday at the Jack Roddick Track and Field Invitational held at Shippensburg University.
DeLattre's winning jumps were 45 feet, 2 inches in triple jump and 22 feet, 7.75 inches in the long jump.
Altoona's Nathan Lutz placed second in the pole vault by clearing 15 feet. Teammate Jimiere Hardison cleared 6 feet in the high jump to take home a bronze medal. In addition, Bron Mosley was sixth in the shot put for the Mountain Lions
On the girls side, Altoona's Hailey Kravetz was sixth in the 100-meter hurdles and Reese Wilber was sixth in the 1600-meter run.
Manfred ninth
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- Edith Manfred, a Grier School senior, ran at the West Virginia University Mountaineer Showcase Track Invitational on Friday.
She placed ninth in the elite 3200-meter race in 11:33.06. The race was won by Irene Riggs of Morgantown, in 10:10. Riggs is the multi-time national champion in cross country and track and the 2022 Gatorade National Cross Country Runner of the Year.
Lady Tigers win two
HUNTINGDON -- Hollidaysburg won both its games at the Terry Shope/John Shuck Memorial Tournament Saturday in high school softball.
The Lady Tigers defeated Huntingdon, 11-0, with the help of a triple, double and three RBIs by Brianna Dawson and a one-hit shutout thrown by Olivia Vincent, who also had two hits and an RBI.
Hollidaysburg also defeated Williamsburg, 15-0, in three innings and got three-hit games from Sydney Shay and Abby Steiner. Shay and winning pitcher Maria Malone each drove in three runs.

Tyrone edged
THREE SPRINGS -- Despite a grand slam by Beth Pearson in the third inning, Tyrone's softball team fell to Southern Huntingdon when the Lady Rockets rallied to overcome a four-run deficit and win, 7-6, on Saturday.
K.K. Brodzina doubled and had two of Tyrone's four hits.

Tyrone tops rival
TYRONE -- Ashton Walk, Ross Gampe, Gayge Miller and Brandon McClure each had three hits to lead Tyrone to a 7-1 victory over rival Bellwood-Antis Saturday in high school baseball.
Caiden Bonsell earned the victory on the mound, and Gampe also doubled and drove in three runs as the Golden Eagles put up a five-run second inning.
Matt Berkowitz had two of Bellwood's six hits, and Josh Dorminy drove in the Blue Devils' lone run in the seventh inning.

Tigers triumph
FAIRVIEW -- Hollidaysburg avenged its only regular season loss from last season with a 4-1 triumph over Fairview on Friday in high school boys tennis.
Nathan Barton and Jadd Younes won singles matches. The teams of Haddy Obeid and Michael Waibel and Felix Xu and Garrett Bouchard won doubles matches for the Golden Tigers, now 15-1.

Altoona falls in semis
PENN HILLS -- Altoona lost to Aquinas Academy, 25-20, in the Silver Division semifinals at the Penn Hills Junior Varsity Invitational in boys volleyball on Saturday.
In pool play, Altoona lost to Gateway, 25-15, 25-17, Shaler, 25-20, 25-15 and Penn Trafford, 25-17, 25-14 and split with Aquinas, 25-15, 10-25.
Lukas Weathersbee had seven kills and three blocks for the Mountain Lions.
