Lady Bulldogs put up plenty of offense early in win

LOYSBURG -- The Claysburg-Kimmel High School softball team scored 11 runs in the first inning Tuesday afternoon in a 17-1 four-inning victory over Northern Bedford.

Winning pitcher Emalee Cavender had three hits, including a home run. The Lady Bulldogs (3-0) also got home runs from Zakera Bush and Payton Hinish.

Northern (1-1) got a home run from Lindsey Bolinger.

Hinish also homered in a win over Bellwood-Antis on Monday.

Peterson shines

FLINTON -- Maddie Peterson fired a three-hitter to help Glendale edge Curwensville, 2-1.

Peterson also delivered two hits and an RBI for the Lady Vikings.

Stewart also had two hits, including a home run. Zoe Walters, Mackenzie Coffman and Braelyn Hall each added two hits.

JOHNSTOWN -- Central scored 12 runs in the first inning and 10 more runs in the third in a 28-0, three-inning win at Johnstown.

The Lady Dragons, who totaled 17 hits, got two home runs and four RBIs from Aubrey Rhodes to go with three hits, including a homer, and four RBIs from Lacey Lynn.

Madison Kennedy added three hits, including a home run, to go with four RBIs while Bralyn Ellis added a home run.

Maya Hazenstab rounded out the offense with three hits, four runs scored and three stolen bases.

Kamzik leads CC

FISHERTOWN -- Kami Kamzik pitched and hit Central Cambria to a 6-0 victory at Chestnut Ridge.

Kamzik had two homers and four RBIs to go with nine strikeouts and no walks while scattering three hits.

Keira Link and Aubrey Ruddek each had two hits and an RBI for the Lady Devils.

Lady Tigers edged

SPRING MILLS -- Penns Valley scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning en route to a 4-3 win over Hollidaysburg.

The Lady Tigers, who led 3-0 going into the bottom of the fifth inning, got two hits each from Maria Malone, Abby Steiner, Olivia Knab and Alexis Peacock. Malone and Olivia Vincent each added solo RBI efforts.

Taylor Bumgardner had two hits, including a home run, and two RBIs for the Lady Rams, who won the game with a run in the seventh when Noelle Webb scored on a Tiger error.
