Vancas keys AAHS to win over Bison

Hannah Vancas scored a goal in the 79th minute to lift the Altoona girls to a 3-2 win over Clearfield at Mansion Park in high school soccer action on Thursday.

Vancas had two goals in the game, and Hailey Kravetz scored Altoona's other goal. Ellie Smith scored both of Clearfield's goals.

LOYSBURG -- The Northern Bedford girls ended West Branch's eight-game winning streak with a 4-3 win.

Abby Kline scored the game-winner at the 30:59 mark of the second half. She finished with two goals and an assist for the Lady Panthers (13-1). The Lady Warriors dropped to 9-4.

Farabaugh milestone

FISHERTOWN -- Bishop Guilfoyle Catholic senior Lainey Farabaugh scored her 100th career goal in the Lady Marauders' 8-0 victory over Chestnut Ridge.

Farabaugh had four goals and an assist, Hailey Degol had two goals and an assist, Claire Cammarata contributed one goal and an assist, and Finley Steinbugl added a goal.

Steinbugl, Farabaugh and Sarah Geishauser combined for the shutout in goal.

ROARING SPRING -- Kira Trexler scored three goals, and Ella Garner scored two to help the Central girls move to 13-0 with a 7-2 win over Penn Cambria.

Lakkyn Dibert and Leya Hazenstab also scored goals for Central, and backup keeper Darci Heltzel earned the win.
