LOYSBURG -- The Northern Bedford girls soccer team advanced to the District 5 Class 1A semifinals on Wednesday night, thanks to a 9-0 win over Everett in high school action.
"Our girls came out with tons of energy and controlled the game from the outset," Northern Bedford coach Marcus Yeatts said.
Northern, which improved to 18-3, will host Rockwood next Monday at 6 p.m.
"Our back four kept everything in front of them and our midfielders and forwards constantly pressured them," Yeatts said.
Abby Kline had four goals and an assist in the first half as Norther jumped out to a 7-0 lead on the Lady Warriors (7-12). Mariah Hall also scored two goals while Emily Heck, Ava Helsel and Ava Whisker added solo goals. Miranda Clark got the shutout in goal.
Helsel and Hall scored a goal in the second half to finish off the game.
"She is such a dangerous attacking player and creates space for other players with the attention that she draws," Yeatts said of Kline, who now has 62 goals this season.
