Lady Lions shine in second half

LEWISTOWN -- The Altoona girls soccer team improved to 12-4 Wednesday, thanks to a 3-1 win at Mifflin County in high school action.

The Lady Lions, down 1-0 at halftime, got solo goals from Sophia O'Dea, Hailey Kravetz and Ali Little.

HOLLIDAYSBURG -- Chloe Stoehr scored two goals, and Kennedy McHugh and Lauren Stevenson had a goal and an assist for Hollidaysburg in a 4-0 victory over Philipsburg-Osceola.

Sophia Blescia and Erin McGinnis combined for the shutout in goal for the Lady Tigers.

The Lady Eagles (11-6) -- who were tied at 1-1 at the break -- also got goals from Eliza Vance and Lainey Quick.

SIDMAN -- Andrew Dillon scored two goals and set the new single-season Penn Cambria scoring record with 33 goals, breaking the mark of 32 goals by Gabe Canineu in 2019, in a 6-2 victory over Forest Hills.

Vinny Gongloff and Nicholas Sposato each added two goals for the Panthers, and Duncan Gongloff recorded a shutout.
