Kade Black's late goal in regulation was the deciding one in Altoona's 1-0 victory over Middletown in a high school boys soccer game at Mansion Park.

Altoona girls fifth
GROVE CITY -- Reese Wilber (14th, 20:20) and Gracie Gioiosa (25th, 21:16) earned medals on the girls side for Altoona at Memorial Park in the John Sample Cross Country Invitational on Saturday.
The Altoona girls finished fifth overall. Beaver won the girls team title.
Altoona was eighth in the boys team competition with Grove City taking the team championship.
Andrew Quinn finished 20th overall to medal in 17:15 for the Lions.

JV Spikers fifth
The Altoona junior varsity girls volleyball team participated in the Cumberland Valley JV tournament Saturday and finished fifth by going 6-3.
In pool play, Altoona split with Hempfield, 14-25, 26-24 and Lower Dauphin, 25-19, 22-25. It defeated Tyrone, 25-15, 25-23, and Cedar Cliff, 25-23, 25-22
Tyrone defeated Altoona, 26-24, in the Gold playoff quarterfinals.
Ellaina Saylor finished with 19 kills, eight digs and three blocks for Altoona. Megan Kelly had 11 kills, 24 digs and four aces, and Jorja Treece had 31 assists.
